Millen News travels to Tennessee

2008-11-12 / Other Jenkins News

The Millen News recently traveled to Gatlinburg, Tenn. with members of West Millen Baptist Church. Attending were, from left, first row: Steven Adams, Caleb Adams and Cheryl Adams; second row: Mary Margaret Garvin, Bonnie Garvin, Judy Kent, Libby Williams, Jeanette Becton and Marie Garvin; and back row: Roy Garvin, Ray Garvin, Maybelle Wiggins, Larry Thompson, Brenda Thompson, Larry Evans, Catherine Amerson, Rudolph Becton and Franklin Garvin. While they were visiting the quaint little town of Gatlinburg, its population more than doubled, as senior and mature adults from all over the country came together for a wonderful time of singing, laughing and preaching called "Jubilee." There were approximately 6,000 senior adults at the convention center. While there, they were blessed by an unbelievable collection of gospel musicians and preachers including Dr. Johnny Hunt, president of the Southern Baptist Convention and Evangelist Junior Hill; Greater Vision, The McKameys, Squire Parsons, Sandi Patty and Ricky Skaggs; and comedian Dennis Swanberg, who performed hilarious stories and impersonations.
