Three people were injured in a 2-vehicle accident that occurred Nov. 12 at the intersection of Old Perkins Road and Millen By-pass. A Georgia State Patrol spokesperson indicated that a 1991 Ford Escort, driven by Fritz Schmitz of Millen, was traveling south on Old Perkins Road when it crossed into the path of a log truck traveling west on the by-pass. Schmitz and a passenger in his vehicle, John Lucas, were transported to the Jenkins County Hospital for treatment of injuries.
