William E. Lesher, 69, of Millen died Dec. 26

Mr. William Earl (Bill) Lesher, 69, of Millen died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007.

His funeral was 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Millen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Christy Bandy officiating. Burial was in the Millen Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Lesher was born in Leroy, Ill. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He also retired as a business owner, and he was a Methodist.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Morgan, and his father, George Lesher.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Edith Virginia Rogers Lesher; three daughters, Teresa (Matt) Luedke of Ellabell, Patricia (Jeff) Kidd of Dublin and Laurie (Ronnie) Fleming of Millen; his mother, Florence Lesher of Martintown, Ill.; three sisters, Dorothy Wendel of Martintown, Ill., Nancy Lesher of Marion, Ill. and Marilyn Que of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a brother, Allen Lesher of Watseka, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
