Federal funds to benefit hospital

Congress recently approved a funding request by Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) that will directly benefit Jenkins County.

Included in the Omnibus Appropriations bill is an appropriation of $268,000 in federal funds for Jenkins County Hospital in Millen. This funding will be used for new, state-of-the-art medical equipment at the Jenkins County Hospital.

"This funding is an investment in the future of Jenkins County," Barrow said. "Money spent replacing obsolete equipment is money saved in the long run as a result of the increased health and quality of life of all Jenkins County residents."
