The activity departmentsponsored parties for Christmas at Syl-View have come to a close. The family Christmas parties were great with standing room-only in attendance. I had that old cold, but with everyone's help, I made it through. Thanks to Betty Malloy and two great helpers from the nursing department, for all of their hard work and help. The chart work has been extra heavy during the holidays.
The Buck Creek United Methodist Church sang for the residents recently. And, for all who have entertained, and for the gifts of fruit and goodies, we are grateful.
Johnny Gross of Southern Cross Timber provided oranges, so we will have ambrosia for our New Year's noon celebration. The sparkling grape juice will be chilled, ready to pour in the champagne glasses on New Year's Eve. This is always a special time as Auld Lang Syne rings out in the dining area, as residents and staff celebrate together. Thank you to all who make it possible.
The Christmas Square Dance was fun, and Toby Davis, dressed as an elf, brought laughter and joy. We are blessed to have Mr. K and the Screven Squares to entertain.
On Gingerbread Day, we made gingerbread houses and served gingerbread boy cookies to the residents. The houses have been used as table decorations in the dining area.
David Hall was enjoying the Christmas party as his mother, aunt and sister shared the celebration in the most beautiful time of the year.
Ella Ree Chance had family present for the party, and she looked regal in her red outfit. Thanks to Betty Roberson and the dietary staff for preparing and serving an array of food for the two receptions following the family night parties.
To all of our friends in Millen and Jenkins County, a merry Christmas to you, and visit us soon.
