Gretchen Z. Wooldridge, 96, died December 27

Mrs. Gretchen Zais Wooldridge, 96, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at the Bethany Nursing Center.

A memorial service was held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Elam Baptist Church with the Revs. Maurice Crowder and Kevin Farmer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Yukon Cemetery in Yukon, Okla.

Mrs. Wooldridge was born in Tehama, Calif. She was a homemaker and a member of Elam Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wooldridge, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her two daughters, Dorothy Mathis Gay of Millen and Elizabeth Mathis Anderson of Ft. Worth, Texas, and a son, Carl Mathis of Palos Verdes Estate, Calif.

Memorials may be made to Elam Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
