Hite named All-American by Inside Triathlon Jim Hite was one of five men from the U.S. and Canada in age group 70-74 named All-American for 2007 in the sport of Duathlon (run-bike-run) by Inside Triathlon magazine, according to the January 2008 edition of the Boulder, Colo.-based magazine. Hite was also selected for the honor in 2005. The designation is based on the quality of the competitive events and the athlete's finish within his age-group. Hite placed third in Powerman Alabama (8 kilometer-53 kilometer 8 kilometer) in April, qualifying for the International Triathlon Union World short course (10K-40K-5K) Duathlon Championship in Gyor, Hungary, where he placed ninth. He was third (70-74) and third Master (over 40) in two Georgia Trithe Parks Series duathlon races (10K-40K-5K,) earning third Master honors for the year. Hite ended his competitive season with Powerman Ohio (8K-58K-8K) in late September in Mansfield, where he placed third (70-74.) |
