Countywide Prayer Meeting

A Countywide Prayer Meeting will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Olde Pal Theatre on Cotton Avenue. The public is encouraged to attend.

Fall Sports Athletic Banquet

To celebrate the accomplishments of the Jenkins County fall sports athletes, the annual Athletic Banquet will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, in the Jenkins County Middle/High School lunchroom..

Sponsored by the Jenkins County Athletic Booster Club, the softball, competition cheerleaders, girls and boys cross-country, and football teams will be honored.

The banquet will include the awarding of medals, the recognition of athletes and their coaches, and a barbecue meal.

Tickets are $7 and may be purchased at the door. Plan to attend and show your support for the positive successes of local student athletes.

'39ers to meet

The '39ers will meet Monday, Jan. 21, at the Millen Community House, to begin a "Happy New Year." There will be a covered dish meal at noon.

Members and visitors are invited to attend, to make new friends and enjoy the old ones.

Paratroopers and Glider Men to meet

The 82nd Airborne Division Association will meet 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Lovezzola's Pizzeria in Pooler. All former paratroopers and glider men and current paratroopers of all military branches and guests are invited to buy lunch and join the meeting. Chapter officers will be installed at this meeting.
