JCHS athlete awarded
Julie Drake, a senior at Jenkins County High School, has received the WJBF News Channel 6 Scholar Athlete Award. This award recognizes student athletes who excel both in athletic competition and in the classroom. Julie has received a varsity letter in cross country and track. Her athletic accomplishments include the Most Valuable Player award in cross country her freshman year and the Coach's Award in cross country both her sophomore and junior years. Academically, Julie maintains an A average and takes college prep classes. Her future plans are to attend Georgia Southern University. Julie is the daughter of Darryl and Donna Drake of Millen.
