Millen native, Lindsey Sharpe died Dec. 21

Lindsey Sharpe died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007. Born in Millen, Lindsey was the son of the late Morgan Thomas Sr. and Idabell Burke Sharpe.

He was a graduate of the University of Georgia (UGA) and had been a passionate UGA fan ever since. His favorite quote was, "You can't spell sugar without UGA."

He was a loving and devoted husband and father, and had been a Columbia-Lexington, S.C. area resident since 1967.

He was a member of First Baptist of Lexington. After his retirement from 33 years of employment with Harsco Corp., he was a manager for Deepwood Estates in Lexington.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Sharpe; wife, Margaret Saxon Sharpe, (mother of his daughter); and wife, Pat Gantt Sharpe.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Imogene Sharpe of Lexington, include his daughter and son-in-law, Deneen and Mike Craft of West Columbia; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Candy and Steve Holland of Dallas, Texas and April and Nathan Crocker of West Columbia; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Morgan Thomas Jr. and Joanne Sharpe of Millen, Julian and Barbara Sharpe of Milledgeville and Claudine Sharpe, (widow of his brother, Bobby Sharpe.)

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lexington.
