Syl-View Happenings
By Betty Scarborough

Exciting events fill our days at Syl-View. Our "Teen Volunteer of the Year," Jordan Zeigler, who won state honors, will be recognized as we attend the "Stars of Long Term Care" session of the Georgia Health Care Mid-Year Convention.

Our "Bingo Angels," who were state and national Group Volunteers of the Year, will be spotlighted at the same session. There will be a celebration luncheon in honor of the Long Term Care Stars following the session. This will be held at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta.

Jerry Hunter, volunteer, led the community-wide celebration of Martin Luther King Day at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21. He included community, churches and clubs, and we had a great time of fellowship and worship.

We recently celebrated the 88th birthday of volunteer Anita Thompson with a Hat Party. Anita has been a faithful volunteer for many years. She helps with Bingo and all of our special events. She shares items for the residents' pleasure and brings treats for residents and staff. She will wear a clown suit or any costume to help carry out the theme at our parties. She brings funny clippings to add enjoyment to the residents' lives. Mr. K and Doug Schriner provided entertainment with music, and we served birthday cake, chips, wings and drinks. We tip our hats to a fine volunteer on her 88th birthday.

Other coming events are Soup Day and Activity Appreciation. We invite you to visit soon. Attend one of our Syl-View Happenings and help us celebrate.
