JCMS offers peer tutoring program after school In an attempt to help improve academic performance at Jenkins County Middle School, the eighth grade teaching team is implementing an after school peer tutoring program. Tutors may volunteer to serve in the capacity as a peer helper. The role of the peer tutor is to assist other eighth grade students who are experiencing difficulties with class work or homework. There will also be at least one teacher present to facilitate and assist with the duties of the peer helper. Beginning Monday, Jan. 28, sessions will be held 3:15-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All program participants must have transportation available at 4 p.m., as no student can be left on campus unsupervised. Peer tutors must have a signed permission form on file with the teachers to be eligible to stay after school and participate in the program. If parents have questions or need more information, they should contact Amber Arrington, Monica Broxton, Rhonda Clark, Jamar Dunnum, or Elouise Wright at 478- 982-1063 between 1:45- 3:15 p.m. daily. |
