The Millen-Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce is in the process of compiling its events calendar for 2008. Any civic organization or group sponsoring a community event during the year is invited to call the chamber office at 982-5595 to have the event placed on the calendar. Examples of community events would be the annual Relay for Life, flower shows, Fair-onthe Square, Town Hall meeting, Legislative Breakfast, Christmas in Millen, Harvest of Fun Festival, etc.

I had the pleasure of speaking briefly with Ricky Evans on Monday as he visited The Millen News with family members. As most of you know, Ricky recently had surgery, and I am pleased to hear that things went even better than the doctors had first anticipated. He is well on the road to recovery - another answered prayer.
