Wallace, Deal to marry May 31

Elizabeth Wallace and Lawson Deal

Mr. and Mrs. John S. Wallace of Statesboro announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wallace, to Lawson Newman Deal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Deal of Millen.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Frances Joyner and the late Lloyd L. Joyner Jr., the late Fred A. Wallace Sr., the late Dorothy Wallace Pound and the late C.R. Pound Sr., all of Statesboro. She is the greatgranddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd L. Joyner Sr. of Perkins.

Miss Wallace is a 2003 graduate of Statesboro High School and a 2007 cum laude graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Hudson and Margaret Williams of Millen and Murel Deal and the late Shad Deal of Portal. He is the great-grandson of Mae Dell Brannen and the late Paul Brannen of Millen.

Mr. Deal is a 2003 graduate of Bulloch Academy. He is currently employed with Statesboro Monument and Vault Company.

Elizabeth and Lawson will marry Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 5 p.m. at Pittman Park United Methodist Church in Statesboro. A reception will follow the ceremony at the Georgia Southern University Botanical Gardens. No local invitations will be sent; friends and relatives are invited.
