Head Start takes applications

CSRA EOA, Inc. Head Start is currently accepting applications for children who will be 3 years old by Monday, Sept. 1, and 4 years old by Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that provides quality services for the whole family. The program offers medical and dental services, mental health services, transportation, transition practices, nutrition experiences, social services and opportunities for parental involvement. All services are provided in an educational environment that assures that the child will meet the challenges of the 21st century. All services are free to qualified applicants.

Applications can be obtained 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Jenkins County Head Start, 727 Virginia Ave., Millen. The telephone number is (478) 982-8310 and the fax number is (478) 982- 8311.

The following items are requested to process an application: a certified birth certificate; verification of income for the last 12 months (W-2 form, copy of last income tax return, TANF/ Food Stamp letter, social security benefit letter); and a child immunization shot record (Georgia Form 3231).
