Obama, Huckabee carry Jenkins

Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Mike Huckabee were the candidates Jenkins County voters chose in Tuesday's Presidential Preference Primary election.

Obama polled 548 votes to Hillary Clinton's 306.

Huckabee received 309 votes with John McCain polling 270.

Voters also gave their nod of approval to the renewal of the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax by a vote of 1,124 in favor and 465 opposed.
