Jury finds Daniels guilty

A Bulloch County jury found Vandy Mack Daniels guilty last Friday of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was found guilty on all charges stemming from the March 6, 2006 robbery of Mighty Mike's Hot Stop, Statesboro, except kidnapping.

Superior Court Judge William Woodrum sentenced Daniels to life without parole for the armed robbery charge, 20 years for the aggravated assault charge and five years for possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The sentences duplicate those which Daniels received in Jenkins County for the March 7, 2006 armed robbery of the Quick Stop convenience store on Winthrope Avenue.
