AmeriCorp volunteers

Jenkins County Family Enrichment Center announces that Jenkins County High School seniors Bonnie Milton and Chetiqua Newton, shown from left, are the 2007-2008 AmeriCorps volunteers for Jenkins County. AmeriCorps volunteers offer tutorial assistance, as well as community service projects. Milton and Newton assist with the afterschool programs offered at the elementary, middle and high schools. Upon their completion of volunteer hours, they will be the recipients of an education award, which will help toward their college educations. The AmeriCorps program is provided through Communities in Schools of Jenkins County and Communities in Schools of Georgia. (Photo contributed)
