Community raises money for local youth in need of kidney transplant
      A turkey shoot fund-raiser will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, for Brandon A. Smith, a 12-year-old Hiltonia resident who needs a kidney transplant in the near future. The location of the event is Beaver Dam Sporting Clays (Frank Bruno's) in Hiltonia, across from the mulch plant on Highway 24.

GSP investigated 6 accidents
      State troopers from the Sylvania Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated six traffic crashes during the month of January in Jenkins County. Sgt. 1st Class Young said the traffic crashes resulted in eight injuries and no traffic deaths.
