Development authority elects chairman

MABEL JENKINS
Mabel C. Jenkins, life-long resident of Jenkins County, was recently elected as chairman of the Jenkins County Development Authority.

She is presently serving on the Board of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, a position to which she was appointed by Governor Perdue in 2006. In this position, she is chairman of the State Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites Committee. Jenkins also serves on the North Georgia Mountain Authority as a request of the Governor. Prior to these appointments, Gov. Perdue appointed her to the Georgia Rural Development Council on which she served three years. She became a board member of the development authority in January 2007.

Other newly elected officers of the Jenkins County Development Authority are King Rocker, vice-chairman; Jeff Brantley, secretary/treasurer; and Ed Fuller, vice-secretary/treasurer.
