Signing ceremony

Representatives with the USS Georgia Flag Project sponsored a signing ceremony Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Jenkins County Courthouse. The event was part of a statewide effort to have a Georgia State Flag presented and signed in all 159 Georgia counties and logged into the USS Georgia's permanent record. The trident submarine was recently returned to service and will be stationed at the naval submarine base at King's Bay. Those participating, from left, are Gary A.
