Walter E. (Bill) Penndorf of Millen died March 4

Walter Edsel (Bill) Penndorf of Millen, 78, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008.

His funeral was held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Elam Baptist Church with Dr. Maurice Crowder and the Rev. Kevin Farmer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Penndorf was born in Chatham County. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Penndorf was also a retired farmer and postal employee. He was a member of Elam Baptist Church, where he attended the Adult Men's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Jongelyn Newton Penndorf of Millen, and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers were Dudley Clifton, John Roy Clifton, Larry Thompson, Robert Thompson, George Robert Dudley and Andy Dudley.

Honorary pallbearers were the Eight O'clock Coffee Club, the Adult Men's Sunday School Class and Dale Wiggins, Joe Collier, Randy Johnson and Don Rich.
