JCHS boys track places 2nd

The Jenkins County High School (JCHS) boys' track team competed in Screven County Thursday, March 6, against Screven and Swainsboro.

Coach Charley Waters commented, "Our War Eagles had a very strong showing for this first meet. I expect us to get faster and stronger as the season progresses."

JCHS finished a close second with a score of 57 points behind Screven County with 57.5 points. Swainsboro was third with a score of 48 points.

Patrick Moody had an outstanding meet finishing 1st in three events and setting two new school records. Moody was first in the Long Jump 21 ½", 100 meter race setting a new school record of 10.48 and the 200 meter setting a new school record of 21.57.

Charles Reynolds finished 1st in the 110 High Hurdles with a time of 15.32. The 4x100 team Boyd Sasser, Dexter Golphin, Charles Reynolds and Patrick Moody also finished first with a time of 43.42. The 4x400 team Patrick Moody, Boyd Sasser, Tim Patterson and Dexter Golphin finished 1st with a time of 3:40.

The 2008 JCHS War Eagles Track and Field Team members are: James Bramblett, Josh Sipes, Anthony Coggins, Will Brinson, Quentin Jenkins, Josh Graham, Ray Waters, Patrick Moody, Tim Patterson, Jardy Sapp, Boyd Sasser, Brandon Wade, Dexter Golphin, Kendrick Mobley, Michael Pickett, Brad Amerson, Tyrone Brown, Dondre Dejesus, Thomas Flakes, Remigio Gomez, Milton Hudson, Tyler Kirkland, Marvin London, V.V. Lovett, Johnny Reyes, Colton Wilkerson, Dag Gay, Charles Reynolds, Quentin Williams, Tyhiry Williams and Akeem Young.
