JCHS girls' track begins

The Jenkins County High School girls' track team competed in Screven County Thursday, March 6, against Screven and Swainsboro. For most of the girls it was their first track meet.

Coach Chuck Sanders commented, "The Lady War Eagles will have a very competitive squad this year as they go through the growing process, they will get a lot stronger."

The Lady Eagles had some outstanding performances for their first meet. Andrea Pittman won the two mile event with Bridget Johnson finishing second. Pittman also finished second in the one mile event. Also having great performances were Deondra Lewis, Keeley Sapp and Margaret Dickens.

Competing for the Lady War Eagles this year is: Keeley Sapp, Andrea Pittman, Natalie Branch, Deondra Lewis, Gena Patterson, Sharnice Snelling, Shondra Summers, Shenita Mozee, Margaret Dickens, Sharanta Dixon, Krista Gay, Bridget Johnson, Zandra Lake, Teanna Taylor, Ayana Walker with managers: Chiquita Kelly and Shanekqua Hudson.
