Coach Charley Waters stated, "This track meet was not one of our better performances as a team. However, we did finish second to a good Statesboro team and defeated a very tough Screven County team. We are a little banged up right now with some key team members having leg and stamina problems. We are in the process of trying new guys and finding out what they can do, but I feel as a team we may have been somewhat intimidated by Statesboro High and that should not happen to a Jenkins County track team. The season is still young. We have six more meets before Region. I have no doubts we will continue to work hard to improve."
