Nelms Edward (Ted) Brady, 86, died March 18

Nelms Edward (Ted) Brady, 86, passed away Tuesday, March, 18, 2008 on his farm in Millen.

His funeral was held 2 p m. Friday, March 21, at Elam Baptist Church with Dr. Maurice Crowder and the Rev. Devin Bell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Revs. Kevin Farmer and Jody Jordan officiating.

Mr. Brady was born in Polk County, Fla. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, and he received the Soldiers Medal for bravery. He retired from Union Camp (now International Paper) in 1984. He was a deacon of Elam Baptist Church, and a former member of Port Wentworth First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Iona Miriam Clifton Brady; three daughters, Sandra B. (Tom) Morris, Diane B. (Stephen) Dowd and Gayle (Kerry) Roach, all of Pooler; two brothers, Harry (Evelyn) Brady and Ernest Brady, both of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Betty Moody of Jesup; four grandchildren, Nikkie Dowd (Eric) Reagan, Kasey Roach (Ross) Lewis, Kayla Roach and Anthony Dowd; and a great-grandchild, Dallas Roach.
