James Ray Jenkins Sr., 77, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008.

A memorial service was held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.

Mr. Jenkins was born October 10, 1930 in Burke County. He was a son of the late Pratt Lester Jenkins and Elizabeth Scarboro Jenkins.

He was owner of the former Jenkins Roofing Co. in Florida. He was a member of Habersham United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jenkins of Millen; three daughters, Shirley Davis, Janet Mitchell and Jerrie Jackson, all of Savannah; a son, James R. Jenkins Jr. of Millen; two sisters, Murle Crapes and Clyde Boone, both of Millen; a brother, Pratt L. Jenkins of Savannah; two stepdaughters, Kim Ryan and Deborah Ryan; a stepson, Joe Ryan; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
