Eagles go 3-1 on diamond The Jenkins County High School varsity Eagles ended a week of play with a 3-1 record. The Eagles defeated Lincoln County 14-4. Leading hitters were Will Bragg 2-2 , 3 RBI's, Homerun; Boyd Sasser 2-4, triple, 3RS; Justin Lanier 2-4,1 triple, and 2 RBI's, 2 RS; and Zac Clark 2 BB, 2 HP , 3 stolen bases. Will Bragg pitched three innings with two strikeouts, three walks getting the win. Spencer Clark pitched two scoreless innings giving up only one hit. Aaron Comstock came on in relief pitching the last inning. The Eagles lost 10-0 to Aquinas. Leading hitters were Will Bragg 2-2; Dag Gay 1-1; and Justin Johnson, Ethan Conway and Justin Lanier all went 1-2. "I guess it was because of the early start on a Saturday morning. It was the only game this year that our pitchers had a not so good day with nine walks and only two strikeouts. Aaron Comstock got the recorded loss but a host of pitchers pitched in the game," said Coach Wendell Clark. The Eagles defeated Hephzibah 5-1. Leading hitters were Trevor Weathersby 1-2, Double; Will Bragg 1-2 ,1 RBI; and Caleb Chance, Zac Clark and Houston Bowers all went 1-3. "Ethan Conway got the win by pitching a complete game. Great job with four strikeouts and no walks. A good win beating them the second time around," said Coach Clark. The Eagles defeated rival ECI 5-3. Leading hitters were Houston Bowers 2-3, 1 Double, RBI, and Boyd Sasser 1-3, 1 Double. "Will Bragg got the win by pitching a complete game. Great job with nine strikeouts and only one walk. Great win going to 2-0 in the region," commented Coach Clark. B-Team The B-team won 9-4 over ECI. Leading hitters were Dag Gay 2-3 with a double; Aaron Tanner and Will Brinson 1-2; and Aaron Comstock and Jonathan Mays 1-3.with a double. "Jonathan Mays got the win by pitching a complete game. Great job with 10 strikeouts and only two walks. Only giving up two hits with just one of the four runs being earned," said Coach Clark.
