4-H News
By Anna Burgess County Extension Agent

Thirty fifth and sixth grade 4-H'ers did an excellent job competing in DPA last Saturday in Emanuel County. Pictured are the competitors, teen leaders and County Extension personnel.
On March 29, we took 30 students to Emanuel County for Cloverleaf District Project Achievement. The students have been coming in and working very hard for weeks trying to learn their speech. Everyone at our office was very proud of them. There were about 300 students from the surrounding counties that competed. Jenkins County was very well represented. As a community, we should be proud of these students and all they accomplished.

It's not easy for a fifth or sixth grader to stand up in front of strangers and present a demonstration. If you see any of these students, please take the time to congratulate them. In all, 24 of our 30 placed in the top three, that's 80 percent! This is a great accomplishment. Even those who didn't place in the top three did an excellent job; most of them were in the top five. So, again, please con- gratulate the following students. Becca Rich, Justin Lanier, LaVonte Lovette and Krysten Fail also went as teen leaders. Not many teenagers would give up a Saturday morning to travel with younger students. This in itself speaks highly of our youth.

Listed below are the students names, the project they competed in, and then their final placing:
