Tractor-trailer collision kills Statesboro woman
A two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 25 South in Jenkins County Tuesday, April 1, claimed the life of Elizabeth Cooper, 26, of Statesboro. A Georgia State Patrol spokesperson said that Cooper was traveling north in the southbound lane when the Chevrolet Blazer she was driving collided with a tractor trailer driven by Andrew Redding of Cordele as it traveled south. Cooper's vehicle overturned and came to a stop on the shoulder of the northbound lane. The tractor trailer came to a stop in a ditch of the southbound lane. The driver was not seriously injured. The accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
