Pinwheels serve as reminder
Jenkins County joined statewide observation of April as "Child Abuse Prevention Month" with a brief ceremony on the Jenkins County Courthouse lawn Monday, March 31. One hundred fourteen pinwheels were placed on the lawn, representative of the 114 cases of child abuse and neglect that were investigated in the county in 2007. While the number of cases has decreased, it was noted that even "one is too many."
