"A Jazz Explosion"

The Augusta State University (ASU) Music Conservatory Program will present The Conservatory Jazz Band, directed by Dr. John Bradley Sr., in "A Jazz Explosion." The performance will be held 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre at ASU. The evening will include swing, soulful rock, salsa, bluesy swing, jazz rock, ballad, cha-cha and rocking soul music. The performance's director, Dr. Bradley, is the former band director of Burgess Landrum School.

Admission is free, and the public is invited.

Gospel Sing

A Gospel Sing will be held at the Jenkins County Senior Citizens Center 11 a.m. Friday, April 18. The public is invited.

'39ers

The '39ers will meet Monday, April 21, at the Millen Community House. All members are encouraged to attend.

Men's Softball

Tournament

The 2008 Men's Slammer Invitational Softball Tournament will be held Saturday, April 26, at the City of Millen Recreation Complex. There will be a double elimination format; rosters must be submitted prior to first game; and the fee is due by the deadline of Saturday, April 19.
