Services held for Leroy Cooper Sr. March 29

Leroy Cooper Sr. died Monday, March 24, 2008.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, at Williams Grove Baptist Church, Millen, with the Rev. C. Reese officiating.

Mr. Cooper was born May 30, 1948 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Otis and Viola Cooper in Burke County. He was a logger and truck driver for most of his life and loved his work with a passion.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Otis Cooper Jr.

He leaves behind a devoted loving wife, Mrs. Bessie L. Cooper; five daughters, Diane (Sam) Foreman of Statesboro, Brenda (Melvin) Glass of Fayetteville, Michelle (Timothy) Brady of Millen, Felicia (Jorge) Rivera of Stockbridge and Joy D. Cooper of Millen; three sons, Leroy Jr. (Larissa) Cooper of Augusta, Lloyd J. Cooper and Ron Cooper, both of Millen; three sisters, Marie McNeil of Jamaica, N.Y., Betty Jean (Joseph) Jenkins of Macon and Minnie Cooper of Waynesboro; eight brothers, Larry D. Cooper of Guyton, Wilbert Cooper of Augusta, Joe (Zadell) Cooper, Samuel Cooper, Albert Cooper, Frank Cooper, Ronnie Cooper and Jimmy Cooper, all of Millen; and 12 wonderful grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
