Carson & Barnes Circus rolls into Millen May 6

Millen Better Hometown and the Millen-Jenkins Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the 72nd edition of Carson and Barnes Circus at the Jenkins County Recreation complex Tuesday, May 6, with shows at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The activity is a fundraiser event for the organizations.

Advance tickets are $10 at the chamber office and $16 on the day of the event. Purchasers of an adult ticket will receive one free child's ticket. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.carsonbarnescircus.com. On circus day, advance general admission tickets may be upgraded to preferred seating for an additional charge.

In addition to the shows, the general public is invited to a free Early Birds special where they can watch the first units of the caravan arriving about an hour after dawn and continuing throughout most of the morning. Some 20 species of exotic and domestic animals, featuring a large traveling zoo, are unloaded, fed and watered as soon as their huge transports pull onto the grounds.

Acts consist of aerial trapeze, high wire, motorcycle acrobatic teams, jugglers and clowns, along with performing elephants, camels, dogs and horses.
