Police Blotter

In response to complaints from local citizens, the Millen Police Department will begin immediate patrol of the following areas and enforcement of related traffic laws: red light at the intersection of E. Winthrope Avenue and Masonic Street - no right turn; BILO parking lot, Daniel Street exit beside U.S. Post Office - no left turn; Stop signs on Harvey Street - must come to a complete stop; and handicap parking spaces - enforcement of laws pertaining to handicap parking in all areas of the city.

The following incidents were investigated by officers of the Millen Police Department:

Wednesday, April 9

• John Badie Jr. of 129 West Board Street, Twin City, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon during the course of a domestic dispute investigation by officers.

Monday, April 14

• Officers investigated a onevehicle accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 25 North.

Thursday, April 17

• Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a Toby Drive residence.

• Jamie Dayton Boyd of 1652 Murphy Street, Midville, was charged with gasoline drive-off, driving with a suspended driver's license-first offense and violation of limited permits for particular offenders.

• Officers investigated a reported burglary at an A-Street residence. There was no forced entry and nothing was missing from the residence.

Friday, April 18

• Officers investigated a twovehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of East Winthrope Avenue and Cotton Avenue.

Saturday, April 19 • Officers investigated a twovehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 25 North and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Sunday, April 20

• Officers were called to Dollar General in reference to a shoplifting incident, and the suspect was identified after being observed on a video tape.

• A county resident reported harassing telephone calls being made to her mother by a known suspect. The suspect's case worker was notified.
