JCES Pre-kindergarten Registration will be April 30

Jenkins County Elementary School Prekindergarten registration for the 2008-2009 school year will be held Wednesday, April 30, at the Jenkins County Agriculture Center. Registration hours will be from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Children must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2008 in order to register. Children who are registering do not need to be present in order to register.

The following items are required for a child to register: a certified birth certificate, a Certificate of Immunization on Form 3231 and a Social Security card (optional.) Starting this year, proof of residency is also required to register. This can be provided by presenting a current Georgia drivers license, an electric or gas bill, or a rental receipt or lease agreement. These items must show a Jenkins County address.

Those registering who receive TANF or Food Stamps should bring a letter of eligibility containing their client number and the card. Those who receive Medicaid or PeachCare should bring the card for the child they are registering. Those registering who receive SSI or CAPS should bring a letter of eligibility.

Participation in the prekindergarten program is limited. Spaces will be filled on a first-come basis, based upon completion of the requirements listed above.
