"National Day of

Prayer" service

to be held

Everyone is invited to observe the National Day of Prayer, sponsored locally by Morrison Grove Baptist Church, on Thursday, May 1.

The church will open at 8 a.m. and remain open all day for all residents to have private prayer or group prayer on behalf of their families, schools, communities and world. During the day, inspirational literature will be available on site.

A Community Prayer Service will begin at 7 p.m. The Rev. Steven Adams, pastor of West Millen Baptist Church, will bring the message. Refreshments will be served in the social hall, following the service.

JCHS School

Council to meet

The Jenkins County High School (JCHS) School Council will meet 3:30 p.m. Tuesday May 6, in the JCHS media center.

FSA Deadlines

Cotton producers should report intended cotton acreage for the Boll Weevil Eradication Program by Thursday, May 1. The $2.50/acre assessment for actual planted acres is not due until Tuesday, July 15. Please report intended acres by the deadline to avoid late penalties.
