Local firefighters provide lunch to Spirit Warriors during benefit

The Millen-Jenkins County Fire Department and North Jenkins County Volunteer Fire Department recently supplied the Spirit Warriors of Riddleville with lunch during the group's benefit ride March 29.

Proceeds from the benefit will be used to help parents when they have a child in the hospital for an extended period of time. Approximately $1,862 was raised by the group.

"I have been asked many times why I am so involved in the fire department," said Richard Jackson of the Spirit Warriors. "It doesn't matter where you go when you ask firefighters for help, they will always respond. These departments went beyond the call, not only fixing us a nice lunch but also donating the cost back to our club for the ride."
