13 qualify for General Primary Election

INCUMBENT Floyd Chance, Commissioner, District #4
Thirteen local citizens have qualified as candidates in the July 15 Democratic/Republican General Primary Election.

The following incumbents qualified on the Democratic ticket and are unopposed: Jenkins County Probate Judge Wanda Burke, Jenkins County Tax Commissioner Brenda Mathern, Jenkins County Clerk of Court Elizabeth Landing, Jenkins County Coroner Henry Young and Jenkins County Commissioner Domingo Green, District #1. They also face no opposition on the Republican ballot.

Jenkins County Sheriff Tim Fields will face opposition from Tony Taylor and Robert Oglesby in his bid for reelection on the Democratic ticket. There are no Republican candidates.

Incumbent Jenkins County Commissioner Tommy Lane, District #3, is unopposed on the Democratic ticket. However, he will face opposition in the November General Election from Republican Tim Clark.

Jenkins County Commissioner Floyd Chance, District #4, faces opposition from Rudine Becton and Ed Meadows. All qualified as Democrats. There are no Republican candidates.

INCUMBENT Tommy Lane, Commissioner, District #3
Anyone who is registered to vote as of June 16 may vote in this election. Voters may register to vote at the office of the Jenkins County Registrar, Jenkins County Courthouse.
