Eagles go one for 2 for the week

The Jenkins County High School Eagles baseball team won one and lost two last week.
The Eagles defeated Bryan County 5-2.
Leading hitters were Trevor Weathersby 2-2, 1BB, 1RS; Josh Lee 1-1, 2BB, 1RS, 1RBI; Spencer Clark 1-2, 1 double, 1 BB; Zac Clark 1-2 1 BB; Caleb Chance 1-2 1BB, 1 RBI; and Boyd Sasser and Dag Gay 2-4.
"Aaron Comstock got the win pitching a complete game with only six hits and two earned runs. Great win for the seniors on their senior day," said Coach Wendell Clark.
The Eagles lost to Metter 16- 7.
Leading hitters were Spencer Clark 1-1; Will Bragg 1-2; Ethan Conway 1-3, 1 double, 2RBI's, 1 BB; Dag Gay 1-3 and Houston Bowers 2-4 , 3 RBI's.
"We used a group of pitchers for this game, Justin Lanier, Caleb Chance, Trevor Weathersby, Will Bragg, Josh Lee and Will Brinson. We wanted to get a look at all of them in a non-region game," said Coach Clark.
The Eagles lost 4-3 to Savannah Country Day in a hard fought game.
Leading hitters were Zac Clark 2-2, 1BB; Spencer Clark 2-3, 1 double; Josh Lee and Trevor Weathersby 1-2, 1 RS, 1BB; and Dag Gay 1-3 , 1 double, 2RBI's.
"Ethan Conway pitched a great game thru seven innings. Pitched good enough to get the win but we came up short in the bottom of the seven," said Coach Clark.
Next games: first round of State playoffs Friday, May 9, 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. vs. Lanier Co in Lakeland. (Best two out of three series) If needed third game Saturday, May 10, noon.
