JCHS announces 2008 honor graduates

The Jenkins County High School Class of 2008 has 23 honor graduates.

Brookes Brinson, valedictorian, daughter of Matt and Jancey Brinson, plans to attend the University of Georgia, majoring in Pre-medicine to become a pediatric oncologist.

Dorothy (Dee Dee) Davis, daughter of Jimmy Davis and Regina Davis, plans to attend Valdosta State College, majoring in accounting. Morgan Hendley Johnson, daughter of Tracy and Karen Johnson, plans to attend Georgia Southern University, majoring in pre-pharmacy, later transferring to South University Pharmacy School. Andrew Boyd Sasser, son of Joe and Claudette Sasser, will attend Georgia Southern University. Katelyn Elizabeth Head, daughter of Michael and Anette Head, will attend Georgia Southern University, majoring in nursing. Katherine Marie Johnson, daughter of Glynda Johnson and the late Sidney Johnson, will attend Armstrong Atlantic State University, majoring in radiology.

Angel Vianey Guzman Hernandez, daughter of Angel Guzman Solis and Adela Hernandez Geron, plans to return to Mexico and seek a medical degree as a pediatrician. James Johnnie Bramblett, son of James Bramblett, Donna Bramblett and Diane Kersey, will attend Georgia Southern Unversity as a premedicine major. Jasmine Keeley Sapp, daughter of Elizabeth Rountree and Charlie Sapp, will attend East Georgia College. William Anthony Coggins, son of Mark and Kim Coggins, will attend Georgia Southern University, majoring in physics and then a doctorate in astrophysics; Juliana Lorene Drake, daughter of Darryl and Donna Drake, will attend Georgia Southern University, majoring in pre-exercise science.

Caleb Pierce Chance, son of Chris and Julie Chance, plans to attend the University of Georgia, majoring in biology then premedicine or pre-vet. Jamie Lindsay Jade Herrmann, daughter of Debbie Richards and Scott and Jessica Herrmann, will attend East Georgia College then transfer to Georgia Southern University. Zachary Allen Clark, son of Wendell and Starr Clark, will attend East Georgia College, majoring in education. Korine Elizabeth Hering, daughter of Keith Bagwell and Laurie Bagwell, will attend Georgia Southern University as a fashion major. Brandon Michael Wade, son of Carlton Wade and Constance Wade, will attend Berry College.

Chelsea Nichole Edwards, granddaughter of Donald Norton, has not decided upon a college at this time. Krikett Nicole Thomas, daughter of Kay Thomas and Dorsey Overstreet, will pursue a nursing degree. Shalaghn Brianna Hunter, daughter of Donald Hunter and Judy Smith, plans to attend Augusta State University, majoring in nursing. Lindsay Jordan Purvis, daughter of Dewayne Purvis and Linda Sanders, will attend Georgia Southern University, majoring in sports medicine. Victoria Marletta Langston, daughter of Terry and Marletta Langston, plans to attend Armstrong Atlantic State University, majoring in nursing, nurse practitioner. Grant Edward Crossland, son of Carl and Ava Crossland, will attend East Georgia College, then Medical College of Georgia pursuing a degree in medicine. Zania Corliss Davis, daughter of Queen White and Leroy White, will attend East Georgia College, majoring in nursing.
