Planters EMC awards $8,000 to Jenkins County students
      Planters Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is donating thousands of dollars to help several Jenkins County students pay for college. The cooperative recently awarded scholarships to eight seniors at Jenkins County High School. Each award is worth $1,000.

Kovac receives high honors
      Jacob Kovac, son of former Jenkins County resident Victor Kovac, received high honors at the recent banquet held for students attending the Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology. He was recognized, as was his father upon his high school graduation, as a National Merit finalist.
