After an amazing vacation, I am glad to be back! As many of you know, I was out of the office for nearly two weeks. I got married last Saturday! When I came in Monday morning, there was a large banner hanging above my desk with our monogram and "Welcome Home" painted on it. I tell you, I love these kids. They are great. I had a wonderful time last week and I thank each of you who went out of your way to make sure our day was indeed special.

On to 4-H news… we have a lot of fun and exciting summer events coming up. Our first two summer events are next week. On Wednesday, May 28, there will be a massive water slide, hotdogs, water balloons, softball and much more! Come join the fun, but you must first sign-up at the 4-H office by Friday! The cost is $5 and it's from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The very next day, May 29, Mrs. Elaine is teaching a Crazy Cuisine cooking class. Come to that activity for a real fiesta!! It is also $5 but from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. There is a limit of only 25 students we can take, so hurry and sign up now! You may also sign up in advance for all the summer activities you want to participate in. Parents, students received a packet at school with all the information you need. Please ask them for it so they can get registered before all the slots get full.

All Jr/Sr DPA participants, for all of your hard work, we will go ice skating on Friday, May 30. We will leave the 4-H office at 5 p.m. and return between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. You will need to bring $5 to skate and money for supper.

Junior Camp is coming up in less than a month. You will get a letter in the mail in about two weeks explaining all the last minute details about camp such as what time you're leaving, coming home, and what to and not to pack. Junior Camp is at Jekyll Island 4-H Center this year from June 16-20.

State Council is a weekend at Rock Eagle just for 8th thru 12th grade 4-H'ers. It is June 20-22. We will leave Friday around 3:00 pm and return Sunday evening. The cost is $75 per person. If you would like to go, registration deadline is June 6.
