As you can tell by the pictures, we have been having a blast this summer. Jenkins County 4-H owes a HUGE thank-you to the McLambs for renting a giant waterslide for 4- H Extreme. We had about 50 students come and play. They went down the water slide over and over and over. There were other sports games setup for them to play but they didn't have time for all of that! I think one round of volleyball may have gotten started! Thank you to the parents who came out to lend a helping hand.
The very next day, about 25 students came out for the Crazy Cuisine cooking class where Mrs. Elaine taught them how to make their own burritos, churros and slushies! They learned how to use a knife to peel tomatoes and chop lettuce. Everyone left with a full belly and a kid-friendly Mexican cookbook.
Then on Friday a small group of our Junior and Senior DPA participants went ice skating in Augusta. This trip was a reward to them for all their hard work on their projects. I am happy to report we made it back with no injuries! However, Walter Ivy had me worried there for a while. Needless to say, after last week I was tired! But I am ready for another exciting week.

This Thursday, we are going to Columbia to the Riverbanks Zoo. This trip has already reached full capacity but if you still want to sign up, we have much more coming up soon. You may stop by and sign up at any time!
Have a great week!
