Portion of State Route 17 closed

The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) announces the temporary closure of a portion of State Route 17 in Millen from 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, until 5 p.m. Thursday, June 5, weather permitting. This closure will enable Norfolk Southern Railroad to upgrade the current crossing at this location.

An official detour route will be posted using State Route 121 and State Route 17 Bypass. Advance warning signs and barricades will be located at intersections prior to closure. As with all road construction, motorists are advised to use extra caution in construction work zones.
