School system holds post-planning meeting

The Jenkins County School System held its post-planning meeting Wednesday, May 28, at the Jenkins County Elementary School (JCES) cafeteria where breakfast was served by Jenkins County School Food Service (JCSFS) employees.
Partners in Education were recognized as follows: BI-LO, Dairy Queen, Jenkins County Farm Bureau, Georgia Power Company, Hanging Rocks Plantation, Huddle House of Millen, Leon's Sportswear, Papa's Pizza-to-Go, Planters Electric Membership Corporation, Queensborough National Bank, Regions Bank, Superior Alarm of Millen and The Cotton Gin.
Retirees honored were: JCES - Elizabeth Echols, Ruth Herrington, Christine Dailey, Tallulah McNeely and Betty Roberts; Jenkins County High School - Lynne Scruggs; and JCSFS - Carolyn Brinson.
Elizabeth Echols was also recognized as a retiree of the Georgia Association of Educators.
Retiring PAGE members honored were Lynne Scruggs and Ruth Herrington. Other members recognized included Chris Landing, Connie Cooper, Dr. Judy Holton, Amber Arrington and Lisa Wiggins.
Jamie Herrmann was honored as a PAGE scholarship winner.
