Candidates' forum update

The format for the Sheriff's Forum, sponsored by the Millen Optimist Club and VFW post, has been expanded to include all candidates in the July 15 Democratic/Republican General Primary Election. The forum will take place 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Jenkins County Agriculture Center. Persons interested in being a part of the debates are asked to prepare and deliver a 5-7 minute presentation which will be followed by a question and answer period. JCHS Class of 1988 to hold reunion

The Jenkins County High School Class of 1988 will hold a reunion Saturday, July 12. All interested classmates should contact DeeDee Miller-Goodwin at (513) 277-1900 or d2mg@aol.com.

FSA Crop Reporting Deadline Extended

Due to the delay in announcing the 2008 Farm Bill provisions and extreme weather conditions, the deadline for reporting crop acreages to the local Farm Service Agency has been extended from Tuesday, July 15, to Friday, Aug. 15. After Aug. 15, late file penalties will apply.

Sign-up dates for the DCP program under the new Farm Bill have not been announced as of yet. This information will be publicized as soon as dates become available.

SCV Camp 2102 to meet

SCV Camp 2102 will hold its regular monthly meeting 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Cindy's Cafe on Cotton. The speaker will be Allen Rea of the Reidsville SCV camp. The recently- held Georgia Division reunion will be discussed; the upcoming Sam Davis Youth Camp, in particular.

All members and prospective members are encouraged to attend. The evening is free, and open to the public.

Robins AFB archivist seeks memorabilia

Mike Rowland, archivist with Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, is seeking officers, enlisted men, WACs, cadets, Britons, civilians and/or their families and friends who were stationed at Cochran Field or lived in Macon during World War II, who would be willing to contribute artifacts, photos, articles and stories pertaining to their experience with the men and women working there.

Annual D.T. Wilson Family Reunion

The annual D.T. Wilson Family Reunion will be held Sunday, June 29, at the Jenkins County Senior Citizens Center. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.

All friends and relatives are invited.
