GDOT to hold open house for detour plans
Tuesday, June 24 5-7 p.m. Deep Creek Freewill Baptist Church

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will hold an open house 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Deep Creek Freewill Baptist Church to discuss proposed detour plans for Jenkins County. The plans are proposed for detours during the replacement of the bridges over the Ogeechee River at Herndon on County Road 191 and the bridge at Sculls Creek on Old Savannah Road.

The purpose of the open house is to provide the public with an opportunity to ask questions and comment on the proposed detours. Jenkins County residents interested in learning more are encouraged to attend the Open House any time during the hours of 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to view the locations of the proposed projects, possible detour routes during construction and express their thoughts and concerns with representatives of the GDOT. There will be no formal presentation.

"We are eager to hear the view points and concerns of all area residents," said Tony Collins, GDOT district engineer in Tennille. "The GDOT encourages all interested parties to provide their inputs for these projects."
