Five qualify for BOE three seats Qualifying as a Non-partisan candidate in the Nov. 4 General Election ended at noon Friday, June 27. On the local level, five persons are seeking the three seats up for election on the Jenkins County Board of Education (BOE). District #1 incumbent Roderick Campbell is unopposed. District #3 incumbent Roy Cook will face opposition from challenger Mike Lane. In District #4, incumbent Vicki Odom is opposed by retired educator Freddie Brinson. Campbell has served on the BOE for 15 years and is seeking his fifth term. Cook and Odom have served on the BOE since 2001 and are seeking their third term of office. |
