H. Lamar Faircloth, a native of Emanuel County, has been named the new City of Millen Administrator. Mr. Faircloth assumed the position July 21, working with interim city administrator Roland Stubbs to make the transitional period as smooth as possible.

Prior to assuming the role of city administrator, Mr. Faircloth was division manager for the Department of Veterans Services in Augusta for 12 years. Prior to that, he was City of Wadley Administrator for five years.

He holds an associate of arts degree in general studies, a bachelor of science in business administration, a master's in public service and an accounting diploma from Swainsboro Technical College.

Mr. Faircloth states that he is not a stranger to Millen and Jenkins County as he presently serves as post commander for the American Legion Post located in Millen and has often shopped in the city.

He and his wife Sandra reside between Millen and Midville, and they have a son, two daughters and three grandchildren.

"I am looking forward to working with the folks in Millen and Jenkins County to better the community," said Mr. Faircloth.
